Greeting Trainers, Welcome to Draft League!
This event is similar to how official Smogon Draft League tournaments work. If you want more information about how Draft League works normally you can find more information here.
This post is designed to answer questions you may have about the Draft League Event.
How long will Draft League run?
Draft League will start officially on the Monday 10th July and will run from Monday 10th July to Monday 4th September (8 weeks) and Grand Finals/Loser Finals will take 3 weeks. The Event will officially end on the 25th September.
How will the tiers work?
There will be a Draft where each team will get an allocated time to draft their Pokémon according to the amount of points they have. The points tally may vary in future depending on the tiers as the landscape of Pokémon changes both competitively and also depending on whether the Pokémon was broken enough to move tiers through multiple iterations of the event. Each Tier has a desingated points tally ranking from
How many people can enter?
The more entries we can have, the more fun the event can be for all. We will have a maximum of 32 players at the moment should we hit that limit and wish to increase this. This will be made aware to all the players in the community.
How do I enter?
You can enter by filling out the google form here. This is so I can get a list of who is entering so the tournament bracket can be decided effectively.
When is the draft?
The Draft will be hosted on Discord. The draft date is Saturday 8th July 2023 11am EDT.
How will the draft work itself?
The Draft will work in a Snake Draft format where the order is reversed each round. This will allow all players to be able to get the chance to receive the Pokémon they want without someone always getting the Pokemon before them.
What if I cannot attend the Draft?
If you cannot attend the date of the draft, you may delegate someone in place to pick your team at the time. I am very aware Time Zones are not fun and can cause issues when trying to set up events as a whole but other than the draft itself, the rest of the event can be done without that restriction.
If I am entered in the event, How will I know who I am facing?
When the draft has finished on the 8th July, I will release the tournament bracket and other information on the 9th July and give time for all players to be made aware of the rules regarding battling, draft trades and what next steps are.
If there are any further questions regarding to Draft League please use the forum post here and I will add these to this post.
