CurseForge Launcher Installation Guide |
In tandem with our written step by step guide below, we also offer a video tutorial if you prefer, located here. |
Downloading CurseForge Launcher
Step 1
- Go ahead and download the CurseForge Launcher if you don't already have it.
- You can download it here for your specific system (Windows or MacOS)
- Please note that CurseForge no longer supports Windows 7.
Step 2
- Once downloaded, run the "CurseForge - Installer" you just downloaded.
- It may ask if you will allow it to make changes to your device, go ahead and click yes to continue.
- Select what language you want (English is the default) and hit next.
Step 3
- Decide whether you want a shortcut on your desktop for Overwolf and CurseForge (For this, just keep CurseForge selected unless you want to use Overwolf for other things).
- You do not need to change the installation folder.
- Once you have read over the Terms and Privacy Policy, go ahead and acknowledge that and hit next.
Step 4
- CurseForge Launcher should begin downloading, this might take a minute for it to complete, but be patient.
- Once it's done downloading you can go ahead and hit launch to start it up.
Step 5
- CurseForge should open up with a Welcome page that will give you a quick introduction to what CurseForge is.
- You can read through this if you think you'll need it, or you can skip it.
Congrats! You've Installed CurseForge!
Now onto the Modpack/Server.
Installing the MirageCraft Modpack

Step 2

Step 3
- Now you have installed the MirageCraft Modpack! You can now hit play and it will open up Minecraft for you, and you should be able to play on our server.
Optimizing Minecraft to Play MirageCraft
Adding RAM to your CurseForge Launcher
Is MirageCraft not running as smoothly as you want it to be? There might not be enough RAM allocated to Minecraft.
Step 1
- With CurseForge open, go to your ModPacks and select MirageCraft's modpack.
- Click the ellipsis (AKA the vertical ...) to bring up a list.
- Select Profile Options.
Step 2
- Under Memory Settings, deselect "Use System Memory Settings" if it isn't already deselected
- Moving the slider to anywhere between 3008MB to 4096MB is suggested.
- 3-4GB is recommended, 2GB is minimum. [1000MB = 1GB]
Step 3
- After you've selected how much memory you want to put into MirageCraft, click "Done".
- Congratulations! You've allocated memory to your CurseForge Launcher! Hopefully it should run faster now, given that your computer can handle the extra memory requirements.
Adding Mods to your Launcher
This guide will be using
Optifine as an example just because it's a very popular mod people tend to play with, but this can be used for other mods as long as you download the proper file.
Step 1
- Download the mod you want to add into the modpack. In this case: Optifine.
- You may get a warning saying that this is a harmful file, this warning can be dismissed as it's just a false positive because it's a jar file. You can click on Keep Anyway to keep the file.
- If you get a page like this, you can skip the ad to download your file.
Step 2
- Once you have your desired mod downloaded, open CurseForge, go to "My Modpacks"
- Select MirageCraft Pixelmon.
- Click the vertical ellipses (the three dots icon) and hit "Open Folder"
Step 3
- Drag your previously downloaded mod into the folder named "mods".
- You can now play as normal, but now with your added mod!
Updating your modpack
Every once in a while we are updating the modpack to include new features and mod updates. Some changes won't allow you to join the server and you will have to update your modpack. To do it follow the video below:
Please be aware that some mods may be considered cheating if they give you an unfair advantage over other players. These can get you banned.
