Installing Pixelmon Reforged with the Minecraft Launcher
Step 1
If you do not already have the Vanilla Minecraft launcher installed, you will need to go to the
Official Minecraft Website to download it. Log In to the website, then select Download and it will give you the download link for the launcher.
Step 2
- Open up your Vanilla Minecraft Launcher
- Run the game in Minecraft Version 1.16.5
- Select installations, then +New.
Release 1.16.5, then click, give the configuration a name and then click
Create.
- Go back to Play, then click on the installation next to the green PLAY button
- Select the Release 1.16.5 option that you have just created. Load this up. Once it has loaded into Minecraft, you will need to close out the launcher entirely.
Here's how to select the
1.16.5 installation.
Step 3
- Next you will have to go to the Official Minecraft Forge Website.
- Be sure that you are on the page for 1.16.5, this can be selected from the menu on the left hand side if needed.
- Download the recommended Installer release for Forge 1.16.5 (36.2.34).
- Once it has downloaded, open up the download and install 1.16.5 Forge (36.2.34).
- Be sure to select Install Client before clicking OK, Forge will then install for your Vanilla launcher.

Next, we are going to be putting our mods into the mods folder. Be sure that the Mods folder in your Vanilla Minecraft is empty before you do this to minimize the chance of conflicting mods.
Windows Users
- Click on the Windows icon then type %appdata% in the search bar. Then click the folder.
- After clicking on %appdata%, then click the .minecraft folder.
- Click on the mods folder and put Pixelmon Reforged and the other optional mods in there!
Mac Users
- Click Finder
- On the menu bar look for Help and search Library.
- Click on Library then look/search for the minecraft folder.
- Click on the mods folder and put Pixelmon Reforged, Biomes You'll Go and the other optional mods in there!
Step 6
Relaunch your Vanilla Minecraft Launcher. It should automatically create a
1.16.5 forge version.
If it does create a Installation
- Select installations, then click the 3 dots on the forge installation, then click edit.
- Next select More Options
- Change the -Xmx1G to -Xmx3G. (You can change it to higher than 3 if your PC can handle allocating more RAM.)
- Click Save.
If it does not create a Installation
- Select installations, then + New.
- Select Release 1.16.5-forge, then click, give the configuration a name.
- Next select More Options
- Change the -Xmx1G to -Xmx3G. (You can change it to higher than 3 if your PC can handle allocating more RAM.)
- Click Create.
Here's about how your forge options should look.
Step 7
- To add MirageCraft to your server list click Add Server and enter '''mc.MirageCraft.net'' for the Server Address.
- Click Done and you should be able to play.
